George BuAbbud is a pioneering technologist and entrepreneur. He is Co-Founder of IC Photonics Corporation and previously held executive roles at IPG Photonics and Marconi Communications. An inventor with more than 30 patents, George developed and deployed the first large-scale FTTH systems in the U.S.
A former associate professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Nebraska, he has advanced graduate education in photonics and IT. He supports microelectronics education in Lebanon and holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Nebraska and a B.Eng. from the American University of Beirut.
