The Holy Spirit University Foundation (HSUF) had the pleasure of hosting Faces of Lebanon: Portraits and the Making of Identity at the USEK New York Center on May 19, 2026.
The evening featured a lecture by Elsie El Deek Bou Jaoude, Art Historian and Director of the USEK Museum, exploring Lebanese identity, art, and heritage through selected works from the USEK Museum collection.
HSUF was especially honored that Ambassador H.E. Ahmad Arafa, Permanent Representative of Lebanon to the United Nations, and Consul General Talal Daher, the new Consul General of Lebanon in New York, accepted Adib Kassis’s invitation and joined us for the evening. Gift books were presented to them on behalf of HSUF/USEK.
HSUF President Adib Kassis welcomed guests and shared updates on USEK’s recent achievements, including the university’s accreditation progress and continued institutional growth.
The gathering was warmly received by guests and helped further position the USEK New York Center as a space for culture, community, and meaningful engagement around USEK and Lebanon.
HSUF extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the evening, with special thanks to Yara, Amish Market East, and Massaya for their generous support.
With gratitude,
Dhekrayet Nakadh-Stillwell
HSUF Executive Director
